Seedballs

What Are Seedballs?

Seedballs are an innovative and eco-friendly way to reforest and regenerate natural landscapes. Each seedball contains an indigenous seed encased in a nutrient-rich ball of charcoal dust, ensuring the seeds are protected until they are ready to germinate with the first rains. This initiative, led by Seedballs Kenya , is dedicated to reducing the cost of planting various indigenous tree and grass species in Kenya. You can learn more about the available species by visiting www.seedballskenya.com.

How It Works: Reforesting Made Fun & Easy

Planting trees while on safari has never been more fun! With our unique handmade slingshots , crafted by expert Maasai women near Amboseli National Park, you can launch seedballs in style. Here’s how you can contribute to a greener future:

  1. Think Like a Tree – Choose a spot with access to water, away from invasive weeds, and with plenty of sunlight.
  2. Load Your Slingshot – Get ready to plant trees effortlessly with your beautifully crafted slingshot.
  3. Aim, Throw, and Track – Launch your seedballs into suitable areas, drop a map pin, and check back later to see how your trees are growing.

Making an Impact, One Seedball at a Time

Every Explorest traveler receives half a kilo of indigenous tree seedballs , containing nearly 300 tree seeds ! This simple yet effective initiative allows you to leave a lasting legacy in the beautiful landscapes you explore.
